Album Review • Before they became a worldwide success, the group was a 5 part harmony that included Marc Nelson (Az Yet) who left the group to pursue a solo career. Then, they met Ricky Bell (BBD) and the rest is history.
Named after the New Edition song “Boys to Men,” Michael, Shawn, Wanye and Nathan have paid their dues in becoming one of the greatest male groups of all time. If Boyz II Men don’t do anything else, they will give us vocals & some of the best harmonies.Â
Their “II” album gave us that & much more with “I’ll Make Love to You”, the heartbreak anthem “On Bended Knee“, and my favorite “Water Runs Dry.” Listen, that “Water Runs Dry” video was a VIBE! Artist need to get back to making music videos in the middle of the desert, swaying in the wind.
They set a good vibe starting the album with “Thank You,” an upbeat new jack swing record that will give you a nice jig. Then ended it with what we love them for, their acapella harmonies in “Yesterday.” This was a very well rounded album, I’m sure the 12+ million fans that bought the album would agree.Â
